Fresh Alpine Air, Doughnut Floaties + Pretty Flowers // Photos from my travels in Austria

There’s something so life giving about the Alps. I remember reading about their fresh air, clean water and beautiful flowers in Heidi and wondering if they are really that healing.Β

I was recently in Austria and while there, I came to the conclusion that Heidi wasn’t lying. Just breathing in the fresh air was invigorating and everywhere we went was so beautiful.Β

I was really inspired by all of it so I took lots of pictures and thought maybe you all would like to see some. I didn’t want to lug my camera all around Europe, so all of these pictures are taken with my phone, but hopefully you’ll enjoy them anyway!
let's go

Let’s start it off with a bang – this is one of my favourite pictures I’ve taken recently.

Like I mentioned earlier, the flowers are beautiful – I couldn’t get enough of them!

I had a lot of fun taking pictures at this beautiful German lake, and the doughnut floaty definitely made it even better!

I don’t know if any of you will have noticed already, but it was raining a bit while we were taking the doughnut pictures… Sometimes rain can feel stressful and annoying, but the rain we experienced in Austria/Germany just made me feel so alive. We got out of a bus once on the 13 hour drive from Italy to Austria and enjoyed a quick run/dance session with the rain falling on us. Another time, I hung my head out of a crowded boat and let the rain and fresh air surround me instead of smelly French boys. One rain drop somehow got right inside my glasses and hit my eye with perfect aim – impressive, am I right?

Isn’t this view unbelievable?! Frozen hot chocolate always amazes me πŸ˜‰

The colour of the water was crazy!

This one isn’t of the greatest quality, but I loved how it turned out and, believe it or not, this is not edited whatsoever.

I stuck my phone out of the boat’s roof to take this, hehe!

The cliffs and mountains were seriously amazing.

Ahh this place was gorgeous and I love this picture as well!!

Just look at it! Image result for gasping emoji

I was so amazed by the clarity of the water! Apparently, it was drinking quality water so I guess it makes sense… πŸ˜‰

This is the beach we swam at – I want to go back please!!

Thought this was pretty and looked kinda magical. πŸ™‚

There were some precious little kittens were we stayed!

There was also a creek to swim in and put drinks in to keep them cool.

To finish us off, here’s a selfie I took with the more sociable of the two lovely kittens (the poor thing looks very scared but I like to believe he was actually quite happy). πŸ˜‰
let's chat1

  1. The Alps definitely falls under one of my top few places to visit. It just sounds so serene, the entire experience! I love the donut-float lake photo as well as the photos of the red roof buildings. You always travel to some extraordinary places, Amelie, so you should keep on doing travel posts!

  2. I never actually had the Alps on my travel list, but as I see the amazing photos, I just want to go there now! I loved the 3rd photo the most. The flowers really are gorgeous! Your other photos were amazing as well, I also loved the donut floatie picture! πŸ™‚ I enjoyed this post, and you definitely should post more travel posts in the future!
