Hi!! I’m currently reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio, a wonderful middle-grade #1 New York Times Bestseller, all about a 10 year old boy named August with a facial deformity. He’s used to people staring at him everywhere he goes, and, until now, he’s never gone to school because of it. This book follows August as he starts fifth grade, and goes though bullying, gossiping, and a whole lot more. The book also focuses on Auggie’s english teacher, Mr. Browne, and his precepts (basically principles to live by). The main precept that is important throughout the book is When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind. I think this is really cool, and very important!!!
Go and sign the pledge to choose kind here!
Also go to Wonder’s official website/blog!
Thanks for reading!!
Lately I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep, dreaming about the things that we could-sorry. I don’t even like that song. Sorry. (If you didn’t understand, that was Counting Stars by One Republic )
Lately I’ve been (RESIST, RESIST!!)…
Enjoying: a Snowday! (my first one this week, although I had TWO last week)
Listening (to): Hey Now by London Grammar
Writing: Blog posts.
Reading: The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien and Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
Thinking (about): writing this blog post. And my Discovery Girls Questionnaire.
Looking (at): the World’s Cutest Dog (officially), Boo.
That’s all for Lately.
